The Community Table serves hot meals 365 days each year to those in Eau Claire needing food and hospitality. We rely completely on volunteer teams from the community to prepare and serve the hungry.

What is the volunteer schedule? Accordian Control

How do I see open dates for team sign-up? Accordian Control
Scroll down on this page to see open dates on our calendar. Email volunteer@thecommunitytable.org or call 715-835-4977 ext. 7 with your team information and preferred volunteer date. The volunteer coordinator will add you to the calendar and can answer any additional questions you may have.
What should volunteers wear? Accordian Control
Closed toed shoes, shirts with sleeves, shorts must be below fingertips, and hair must be pulled back. Hats are encouraged, but not required.
How many people are needed to form a team? Accordian Control
We need 6 - 12 volunteers to prepare, serve, and clean up from a meal. If your team will be smaller, we can recruit additional individual volunteers. If you have more than 12 volunteers, we can break the day into shifts or plan additional projects such as deep cleaning or completing a mailing. The time commitment is 4 - 5 hours and can be broken up into 2 -3 hour shifts.
Can youth groups participate? Accordian Control
The Community Table welcomes youth volunteers! We ask that youth groups provide adequate adult supervision (1 adult to every 5 youth volunteers). We will ask you to provide liability waivers and photo releases.
How much do volunteer teams donate to The Community Table? Accordian Control
The Community Table asks volunteer teams to provide a $125 donation to help with rent, utilities, and food costs. They also provide 4 gallons of milk or 2 cases of water to serve with the meal.
Can volunteers eat at The Community Table? Accordian Control
Yes! We encourage volunteers to sit and eat with our guests. The Community Table is a community and this is the best way to get to know our neighbors.
I'm not part of a team. Can I come in as a single volunteer? Accordian Control
Yes! We often need individual volunteers to supplement smaller volunteer teams or to fill in on days with no teams. Individual volunteers also help us with events, youth nutrition programs, mailings, and other projects. Contact volunteer@thecommunitytable.org for more information.

VOLUNTEER AS A TEAM
We try to fill our volunteer calendar with teams that provide 6 - 12 volunteers to prepare, serve, and clean up from our daily meals. They also provide a $125 donation to help with rent, utilities, and food costs and 4 gallons of milk or 2 cases of water to serve with the meal.
